Contact: Anthony Juliano, (260) 424-3373 FourthWave Briefs Council on Executive Command Center Fort Wayne, Ind. --Tonight, Don Willis Chairman of FourthWave, LLC, will brief the Fort Wayne City Council on an initiative that promises to have national implications with regard to homeland security and municipal government. The Executive Command Center, an executive command center for public safety and public works located in the FourthWave building in Fort Wayne, will be completed in early 2005. Managed by FourthWave subsidiary SentryPoints, LLC, the Executive Command Center will serve as a showcase for the company's software and expert assessment and consulting services, which provide municipal government leaders with a variety of emergency-management tools. SentryPoints provides cities with a stand-alone system that helps assess and prioritize areas of risk; integrate fire, police, EMS, emergency management and municipal management operations; coordinate effectively with state and federal response agencies during an emergency; and establish a real-time common operating picture of crisis events and response efforts. Willis stated that the Executive Command Center model represents a unique pubic/private partnership--and a unique opportunity for Fort Wayne. "The safety of our city requires more than private investment," he stated. "We feel that the Executive Command Center can serve as a model for integrated emergency management communications that draws on the strengths of both the public and private sectors. SentryPoints and Fort Wayne can work together to be the first to implement this type of integrated system." In keeping with this collaborative spirit, a Media Center will be built adjacent to the Executive Command Center, to give broadcast and print journalists access to information in near real time. The Executive Command Center may also be linked to Fort Wayne's Public Safety Academy, slated for construction at the former Southtown Mall. The Public Safety Academy will provide training for the city's fire and police staff, with public safety career training also planned in partnership with local colleges. In the coming months, SentryPoints will host city leaders from across the country as they consider bringing the Executive Command Center model to their communities. The first of these meetings occurred earlier today, with a visit from Elliot Schlanger, chief information officer for the City of Baltimore, Md. SentryPoints has also partnered with the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) to raise awareness about its products and the homeland security and emergency management issues facing municipal government leaders.Willis stated that the Executive Command Center will bring together all of SentryPoints' capabilities in a format that reflects the environment in which municipal governments operate. "The Executive Command Center gives city leaders exactly what they need, when they need it," Willis explained. "When they see this model in action, they will understand that there's a better way to prepare for the emergencies they will inevitably face."
