Dear Mayor: Every day city leaders face the question of how to keep their residents safe and secure in the post-9/11 era. To help you answer this question, I'm writing to introduce SentryPoints, a command and control software development and threat and vulnerability assessment firm. We have all experienced the need for rapid, coordinated emergency response. Now, a cost-effective program is available through a partnership with United States Conference of Mayors Platinum Member , SentryPoints. They are able to provide rapid deployment of appropriate city resources for any emergency. This capability will also allow for accurate situation analysis and table top training. The Conference is working very closely with SentryPoints to ensure that cities have the resources that they need at their fingertips should a crisis arise. Moreover, as a former mayor and a past president of the USCM, SentryPoints Chairman Paul Helmke knows first-hand the challenges cities face in protecting lives and infrastructure, as well as having the technology and resources needed to do so. SentryPoints provides cities with several resources for command and control software, threat and vulnerability assessment and software, and city incident operations centers. Working with SentryPoints, cities are able to better assess and prioritize areas of risk; integrate the operations of local fire, police, EMS, emergency management and municipal management; coordinate effectively with state and federal response agencies during an emergency; and establish a real-time common operating picture of crisis events and response efforts. These tools help cities understand where they are vulnerable, manage daily safety and security operations, plan their response to crises and react to and recover from major incidents and are now available to our cities. The crises your city may face range from terrorist attack to natural disaster to hazardous material spills. All involve challenges that are remarkably similar: quickly assessing, monitoring and commanding the situation; communicating effectively with local fire, rescue and police; and coordinating efforts with state and federal agencies. Working with SentryPoints, our staff will be happy to meet with you and your staff to explain the benefits of using this technology. I encourage you to contact Dana Bykowski, at the U.S. Conference of Mayors at 202-861-6703, or dbykowski@usmayors.org to learn more about SentryPoints and the ways in which their innovative software and services can help your city meet its public safety and security needs. Sincerely, Tom Cochran |
